Beginning at an early age, Judy was drawn to the field of fine arts and design. At age 10, she was enrolled in art lessons; and fast forward to college-- Judy entered Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelor of Interior Design in 1982. After being employed as an Office Designer in a small firm and a Catholic Church Supply company where she created stained glass windows, Judy then started her family. While raising her 3 children with her husband in Gentilly, she became involved with helping to improve schools and neighborhoods in Gentilly and Lakeview. She held several positions on boards and committees @ Gentilly Neighborhood Associations as well as elementary and high school her children attended while also volunteering as a full time volunteer technology instructor for K-6th graders. After Hurricane Katrina, Judy transitioned into Kitchen and Bath design where, for the next 10 years, she developed into a versatile, passionate designer able to handle contractor work as well as high end residential. Finding it important to network with Interior Design mentors and her peers, Judy joined ASID’s New Orleans District and was honored to work with an exceptional group of devoted ladies and gentlemen where she spent five years as their Technology/Social Media Chair. Presently, in keeping with her goals to broaden her design skills, it seemed a nice fit when Judy was able to acquire a design consultant position at Doerr Furniture. She is thrilled to be given this challenge at such an historical New Orleans institution, and is anxious to continue helping clients with their home improvements in the hope of creating unique environments that brighten their future.
